Ag & Art Film Festival launches summer movies this weekend

SUISUN VALLEY — The Ag & Art Film Festival is launching a new outdoor movie series, Summer Movie Nights, this weekend.

Moviegoers can secure their spot at all three movies with the purchase of a summer movie pass. It also includes a popcorn ticket for each movie and early access.

Tolenas Winery will host “Field of Dreams” at 8 p.m. Friday at 4185 Chadbourne Road, in rural Fairfield.

Guests can pre-order “charcuterie cones” when purchasing their movie tickets. Wine by the glass and bottle will be available.

“Yesterday” will screen at 8 p.m. Saturday at Araceli Farms, 7389 Pitt School Road, Dixon.

Three days of onsite music coming to Solano County Fair

The Solano County Fair Association (SCFA) has announced that in addition to the planned virtual “The Fair is on the Air” programming, three days of onsite music and fair food have been added to this year’s fair festivities.

SCFA Board of Directors President Manny Angel explained, “Our virtual fair programming will go on as planned, but SCFA wanted to celebrate the reopening of Solano County with the addition of onsite activities that are exciting, fun, and most importantly, safe.”

Angel continued, “Using our drive-in concert format, SCFA will be offering 3 days of live music beginning at 5 pm on Friday with The Delfonics continuing on Saturday with a Juneteenth Celebration and performances by Lakeside and Slave. Finishing on Sunday with the Vallejo Show n’ Shine Cruise-in car show.”

Solano cruising toward end of state blueprint – and start of county fair

FAIRFIELD — Vacaville accounted for eight of the 15 new coronavirus cases reported Wednesday in the county as Solano awaits the end of most state business restrictions starting next week.

The new reports take the countywide total to 33,533.

Vacaville is up to 8,805 with the eight new cases, while Fairfield (9,112) and Vallejo (9,905) each added three cases to their counts, the county reported. Suisun City had one additional case for a new total of 2,293.

There were no new reports for Dixon (1,922), Benicia (1,002), Rio Vista (391) or for the unincorporated area of the county (103).

The agency’s Maximum Enforcement Period begins at 6 p.m. this Friday and continues through 11:59 p.m. Monday.
