Playing basketball or tennis in Vacaville parks are no longer options for outdoor recreational activities as the city continues to fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
Out of an abundance of caution, the city announced Tuesday that it removed the nets at tennis courts and zip-tied the basketball nets in city parks. Additionally, gates were locked at places with basketball and tennis courts that were fenced in. Playgrounds had previously been closed.
In a statement, interim City Manager Aaron Busch said the decision was based on data indicating the coronavirus would reach its peak in the next few weeks.
