Coronavirus: Fairfield marquee ‘a nice kind of hope’

Wiley Lloyd, 18, a senior at Vacaville Christian High, called it “a nice kind of hope.”

He referred to Fairfield’s Downtown Theatre marquee being used to promote mostly local soon-to-graduate members of the class of 2020, as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic — a global scourge that will color this important life passage into their college and adult years — continues.

In an electronic loop, some 300 separate student images, over a nearly 90-minute span, flash onto the screens above the theater entrance at 1035 Texas St., the projections the brainchild of Dae Spering, theater general manager and Lloyd’s mother.
