Usually, parades make people smile.
Celia Conley, however, was teary-eyed Saturday when a caravan of sign-and-balloon festooned cars, trucks, SUVs, buses and motorcycles meandered through Magnolia Court Assisted Living in Vacaville, honking and waving at the residents.
“I love it. I never thought it would be that great,” she offered, her voice shaking. “This is wonderful.”
Celia and her husband of 61 years, Joe, are relatively new Magnolia residents. A retired choir director and educator, health issues led her to consider a move. The couple later settled on Magnolia and have no regrets.
