VACAVILLE — Several hundred people gathered peacefully Monday in front of Vacaville City Hall to remember the life of a man who died while being pinned on his neck May 25 by the knee of a former Minneapolis police officer, and demanding respect for the Black Lives Matter movement.
The Vacaville protest, one of many in the country during the past week, was coordinated by a group of individuals via group text, according to Jesse Milliken, one of the people who helped organize the event. He said the initial thought was that maybe a small group of 30 people or so would be at City Hall.
