Måkse, downtown Vacaville’s newest eatery aims to be a three-in-one: a cafe, steakhouse and speakeasy throwback, all next to the CreekWalk that runs through Andrews Park.
So far, only the cafe component is open as it had its soft opening this past weekend, but the remainder of Måkse will open in October, bringing a new eating experience to downtown Vacaville.
Mäkse is the brainchild of Jason Diavatis, who has owned The Loft Wine Bar & Restaurant in Benicia for the last nine years and saw a need to expand his offerings of gourmet food and wine to Vacaville. To help, he recruited his childhood friend Speros Pavlatos.
“We were talking about doing something together, and this opportunity came up,” Pavlatos said. “We were looking for a place where we could open a restaurant and we could be impactful in the community.”
