FAIRFIELD — There are about 7,000 Solano County residents who live with Alzheimer’s disease, and about 650,000 in the state.
Bob Panzer, a local advocate who lost his mother to the disease, said that number could more than double by 2030.
“And minorities are at the highest risk of getting the disease, but are less likely to get timely (care),” Panzer said.
The Solano County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution Tuesday that recognizes June as National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month and declared June 20 as “The Longest Day.”
