Dixon woman, 2 sons make burger joint go despite Covid-19
DIXON — Diane Long would not have intentionally chosen to open up her BurgerIM franchise during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Who would?
The plan for her and her two sons, Ryan, 32, and Matthew, 29, who co-own the restaurant, was to open in June 2019, or shortly after – long before anyone had ever heard of the novel coronavirus.
The preceding months and the 10 months that followed, however, were anything but easy, including having to fire a contractor, battling banking red tape to get a new one, not getting training and other support from BurgerIM as promised and a host of other problems that kept Long up at night.
