Vacaville planning commissioners provided feedback on proposed improvements to the Markham/Brown neighborhood, which included more safety features on the Rocky Hill Trail, at Tuesday’s meeting.
Planning technician Saul Uribe said a strategic action plan has been developed for the area, which includes an emphasis on improvements to Trower Park, a new building on city-owned property on Brown Street, and improvements to the existing Rocky Hill Trail as well as opportunities for expansion. The City Council has authorized the Community Development, Parks and Recreation, and Housing Services departments to apply for Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program (SPP) grants.
If the SPP grant funding is not approved, the council directed staff to pursue funding from other grants, Measure M and/or the Community Block Development Grant.
