SOLANO COUNTY, CA — The State Route 84 Real McCoy Ferry II went out of service Thursday and is expected to remain closed for two weeks for an inspection required every five years by the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Real McCoy II usually provides service to Ryer Island residents, visitors and their cars by crossing the Cache Slough to Rio Vista but it cannot operate until Feb. 25 when the inspection is complete, Caltrans said.
“Caltrans regrets any inconvenience for motorists and residents who use the ferry to access Ryer Island,” Caltrans District 4 Spokesperson Vince Jacala said.
While it is out of service, the Delta’s companion ferry, the SR-220 J-Mack Ferry, can be used for crossings and is on-demand 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
