VALLEJO — The 72nd annual Solano County Fair is going to feel a bit more normal this year, but it’s still a year away from midway screams, visitors walking exhibit halls, pig races and the wafting odors of corndogs and barbecue as children pull on cotton candy and nibble on kettle corn.
But the sounds of live music return.
The fairgrounds will host live cruise-in concerts, as well as a food festival and Juneteenth activities.
“Go back four or five months, we decided we had to do a virtual fair again,” Mike Ioakimedes, the executive director and chief executive officer of the Solano County Fair Association, said in a phone interview Wednesday.
