VACAVILLE (CBS13) — Businesses scrambled to open their doors after the California Department of Public Health decided to lift the stay-at-home order across the state Monday.

“I literally found out we were opening an hour ago,” said Jyka Carreon.

Carreon was one of a handful who arrived early at Los Reyes Restaurante in Vacaville after speaking with her boss about the state’s decision to lift the stay-at-home order.

Spering moves forward with proposal to re-open Solano businesses

FAIRFIELD — Solano County Supervisor Jim Spering said Friday he hopes to have a proposal to reopen and keep open local businesses ready for board consideration Jan. 26.

“I talked to a businessman who told me has been wiped out,” Spering said.

But first, the supervisor said in a phone interview, he wants to identify protocols needed to keep the public as safe as possible.

“What I am doing is I’m going to be working with staff to establish protocols we need to have in place,” Spering said.

Those who have missed the prospect of staying cool at the pool this summer can rejoice. The Walter V. Graham Aquatic Center reopens Monday with a noon lap swim and social distancing guidelines in place.

The noon lap swim will be the first of the programs to reopen.

On July 6, morning and evening lap swims will be added to the schedule, water aerobics will return July 13, Aqua Board Fitness — a version of yoga on water — will resume July 20 and swim lessons will come back July 27.

Public pools in California were given the greenlight to reopen by the state, as the coronavirus pandemic delayed pools’ usual summer reopening by several weeks. Recreation Supervisor Melody Ocampo said the decision for Graham Aquatic Center to reopen was the result of a process of “research, review and collaboration.”

Solano says businesses set to open Friday can open when ready

in News/Solano County 309 views

FAIRFIELD — Solano County is letting numerous businesses – to include wineries, breweries, bars, hotels, fitness centers and family entertainment venues – that were scheduled to open Friday to open immediately if they have proper health and safety protocols in place.

That includes submitting the online plan from the county website indicating what steps are being taken to mitigate the possible spread of Covid-19. It also means those protocols will be posted on-site or can be made available to anyone who asks for them.

Added to that list of businesses with a green light are movie theaters, though restrictions will limit how many people would be allowed in at any given time.
