The coronavirus may have drastically altered many Vacaville residents’ summer plans, but at least they will have a place to swim.
The Walter V. Graham Aquatic Center reopened Monday, albeit with a much smaller crowd than one would typically see this time of year. The pool has stringent social distancing guidelines in place, and only the noon lap swim was open Monday, although new programs will be added each week.
Nonetheless, the excitement was evident among young and old swimmers alike, as they paddled, floated and splashed about in the lap lanes, providing a respite of the summer heat.
Recreation Coordinator Morgan Kruger was very pleased to have the pool open again.
