The project in question was the Harbison Townhomes project, consisting of 167 units on a vacant 8.86-acre parcel next to the Vacaville Transportation Center at the corner of Ulatis and Harbison drives, which was originally approved by the commission in March and billed as a snide-restricted market-rate complex.
However, the development of the nearby Casa Dei Vista Apartments as well as a review of market conditions prompted the applicant — Rich Alexander of Guardian Commercial Real Estate — to resubmit the project without the senior requirement.
