VALLEJO — Ruby Waderich of Solano County Friends of Animals said she’s afraid the novel coronavirus could wind up indirectly creating a high death toll among our furry friends.

Friends of Animals is a small animal rescue/foster nonprofit.

“Coronavirus may not kill the animals directly, but it could easily kill thousands of them indirectly,” the longtime Vallejo resident said. “We’re totally nonprofit, all volunteers, and our fosters provide food, litter and love in their own homes. The organization provides the medical; spay/neuter, flea treatments, worm meds, daily vitamins and so forth, and without this, the animals could die in the street.”
